What to Expect From Your Treatment

Consultation. We assess your skin, concerns, medications and recent sun exposure to decide whether BBL HEROic, MOXI or both are right for you.
1. BBL HEROic. A clear gel is applied, and your provider glides the handpiece over your skin. Most people feel a quick, warm snap that fades fast, and built-in cooling means numbing cream usually isn’t needed. Treatments take about 20 to 30 minutes.
2. MOXI. Your provider may apply numbing cream and use cooling air for comfort. Most clients find it very tolerable.
Right after. Skin feels warm for 30 to 60 minutes and may feel like a mild sunburn for up to 48 hours. You can usually return to normal activities right away.
The first week. Sun spots temporarily darken as they work their way out. After MOXI, tiny treated dots called MENDs darken and feel rough, then flake off between days 3 and 5, revealing renewed skin.
Results. Within one to two weeks, skin looks more even, smooth and glowing, and it keeps improving for weeks and months afterward.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Your provider will build a plan around your goals and the amount of correction you want. Typical plans:

BBL HEROic is Sciton’s most advanced pulsed light technology. It builds on the original BBL and BBL HERO, adding Intelligent Control software and the Skin Positioning System for faster, more comfortable and more consistent treatments.

Is BBL the same as IPL?

BBL is an advanced form of intense pulsed light (IPL). Its precise filters and settings let your provider target pigment and redness more accurately than many standard IPL devices.

Is BBL HEROic painful?

Most clients tolerate it very well. It feels like a quick, warm snap that fades as the handpiece moves. Built-in CoolComfort cooling protects your skin, so numbing cream usually isn’t needed.

Does MOXI hurt?

How much downtime is there?

What's the best time of year for BBL in Arkansas?

Fall and winter are ideal for BBL HEROic, when sun exposure is lower. MOXI can be done any season. Avoid treatment with a fresh tan or sunburn.

Who should not get BBL HEROic or MOXI?
